I'll get back to writing more soon and catch up on the Match.com Photo of the Week, but i have to say that if I were to describe the overall performances given so far in this shoot in 1 word, it'd be "underwhelming".

Freida and Amber are in the most trouble from who I've seen so far. But overall... there are only a few really strong photos.
Perhaps with time I've become pickier as a judge? xD

Maybe with this being their second season, they're just exhausting their portfolios. Cause I'm still new to the ANTM series and I'm with you in not being impressed with many photos right now.

Hey, I know I'm kinda the outsider around these parts, but I've got a question for the judges. Why is it that a lot of times it is the clothes the models are wearing that are being critiqued? What I imagine is Tyra and the other judges sitting at the judging panel, with their guest judge as the designer, and then Tyra coming out of nowhere and saying, "You look fabulous in this shot, but your outfit is hideous!" If this was a fashion design competition, I could completely understand where you guys are coming from, but as models, isn't it their job to wear what's given to them? I don't know if maybe it's different for these online games, but I'm just a bit confused why the clothes and accessories are being critiqued just as much as the models themselves.
That aside, I think the girls overall are doing much better lately, though it still seems it's the "themes" that are their downfall. It's probably because they're running out of photos, but it hasn't stopped at least a few of them from getting extremely creative to pull off something amazing!

Well, I got into a bit of an argument with the other judges over Mischa's magazine cover and how the other judges ranked it last because of the outfit, but I ranked it first. They confronted me about it for a change. But I understand where you're coming from, 100%.

It wasn't just the outfit I had a problem with in regards to Mischa... lol.
Part of it is that this IS online, and that the models basically choose their outfits. They're not handed to them like on the show.

Basically, when I sit down to judge a photo, I look at the overall scope of the picture. That means I look at hair, facial expression, outfit, accessories, and pose from the model, then I look at the photo itself for quality, size, focus, etc.
With regards to why outfit gets a lot of attention, well, it's a major part of the picture, it's one of the most notable things, and it's something that makes or breaks a good picture. If the real show had the models choosing their own outfits and makeup, then I guarantee you Team Tyra would be all over that.
Fact of the matter is, just due to how this competition works, we're essentially judging everybody's skill at picking photos. They figure out what sort of things we're looking for, and try to give it to us, and the one who fits our concept best wins. They can't really "improve" the way that real models can, except for us to say what kind of pictures we do and don't like.
That's how I see it, anyway...
